The César Ritz Gastronomy Campus is a remarkable site that exists between two worlds: the tranquility of a shimmering lake and the imposing presence of a sculpted mountain, a forested landscape in constant flux. These two contrasting yet harmonious landscapes intertwine, creating a dynamic backdrop where architecture finds its equilibrium.

When Nature Interacts with Architecture
Drawing inspiration from this duality, the design of the building is grounded in the aim of complete immersion. There is no dominant viewpoint or predetermined direction; instead, each space harmonizes with the environment as a whole, bridging the lake and the mountain. The structure is composed of two façades, each in resonance with the landscape it addresses. At the summit, a panoramic terrace opens up to a 360-degree view, topped by a woven wooden pavilion, serving as a contemporary echo of the architectural “follies” of the 18th century.

A Dialogue Between Materials and Culinary Craftsmanship

Each kitchen is designed to embody a natural element, offering an immersive experience where materials engage with culinary expertise:
– Fire, in the traditional kitchen, is represented by copper, recalling the flames of ancient cauldrons and pots.
– Water, fluid and translucent, inspires the sweeping curves of glass in the panoramic restaurant.
– Earth is grounded in a suspended vegetable garden, a green oasis atop the building.
– Air infuses its lightness into the woven wooden pavilion, an almost floating structure, lifted by the wind and light.
