Billom aquatic centre, Billom St Dier, France, 2008

The aquatic centre of Billom Saint Dier is located in the countryside, in the middle of the peaceful hilly landscape with a view on the mountains of Turlurons. The figure of the project is based on longitudinal and delicate walls which blend into the landscape. Cled in an openwork of timber strips, these walls shelter the swimming pools opening towards the solarium and the building of the changing rooms, and they are lengthened following the external pool, in a spatial alignement which adjusts to the lines of forces and topography of the site.
