Cultural and prayer centre, Montreuil, France, 2005
The project develops a longitudinal figure on three levels. The ground floor is like a base accommodating an interior street illuminated from the roof, the parking area and the access to the service entrance. The elevated cultural centre consists of a prayer hall, a library open to the city and elongated by a curtain of pillars made of reinforced concrete. The roof is a topography of transparent cupolas in reference to the dunes of the desert, composed by aluminium beam structures.
