A Harmonious Integration into the Grandes Carrières District
Located in the northwest of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, along Rue Belliard and the tree-lined Dora Bruder promenade, this greenhouse facility is seamlessly integrated into a dense urban fabric. The plot, set back from the street, is nestled between two adjacent buildings to the north and south, giving the project a distinctive placement that promotes the creation of green spaces and enhances urban ventilation.

The basin hall is conceived as a floating volume, with its edges not directly touching the surrounding facades. This separation imparts a sense of lightness and suspension to the structure. The facades, constructed of translucent panels, filter the light, creating a soothing and intimate atmosphere for the swimmers. On the northern side, opaque metal panels with portholes ensure privacy from the adjacent schools, while the insulated aluminum facade on the eastern side provides shielding from the views of the Fleurus residence.

A Lightweight Metal Structure with Welded Reconstituted Profiles

The pool’s setback from the street creates a forecourt paved with reclaimed stones, establishing a harmonious transition between the urban environment and the facility. At the center of this space stands a magnolia, a powerful symbol of the project, surrounded by a wooden seating area that invites reflection and relaxation. This forecourt plays a vital role in distancing the building from the street, offering visitors a peaceful initial experience of the site. The recessed positioning enhances the horizontal architectural layers of the building. The landscaped terraces at each level and the interior garden, accessible to users, contribute to the project’s integration into its surroundings, while providing a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that encourages well-being and social interaction.

The Bathing Level, a Floating and Light Carpet

An Ascending Journey to the Basin Hall
Access to the pools is designed as a gradual, structured pathway. From the reception hall, illuminated by natural light thanks to its transparent design, users move through a waiting area with views of a landscaped garden before reaching the changing rooms on the first level. This smooth, intuitive ascent gradually prepares visitors for the aquatic experience.
